Samsung verpasst seinem Orion-Prozessor nicht nur einen neuen Namen, sondern dreht auch an der Taktschraube. Der aktuelle Dual-Core-Chipsatz wird ab sofort Exynos 4210 heißen und nicht die vermutete Taktrate von 1,2 GHz pro Kern haben. Er soll mit 1GHz getaktet sein und könnte durchaus im Galaxy S 2 zum Einsatz kommen, aber nur wenn sich die Gerüchte um den 1,2 GHz-Prozessor als falsch herausstellen. Orion klang irgendwie geschmeidiger, da Exynos aber fei übersetzt für das neue Motto von Samsung “smart and green” steht, ist das natürlich auch okay. Am Ende kommt es ja eh nicht auf den Namen an.

The new naming system will be first applied to the dual core processor codenamed Orion, which was announced in September 2010. Anfangs 1x 1GHz Snapdragon, und dann Tegra 2 mit 2x 1GHz, und wo um allerdwelt kommt jetzt noch ne ARM Cortex bzw. Orion mit 2x 1.2GHz? Dachte dass die neuen CPU's alle Dual Core 1GHz sind, oder eben Single Core mit 1.2GHz-1.5GHz…
Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe hat der Orion ja eben keine 1,2GHz, sondern nur glatt 1GHz. Mir persönlich ist das ziemlich egal. Die Leistung sollte man ersteinmal Sinnvoll nutzen können. Und bis auf 1080p, was wohl eh auf entsprechende Chips ausgelagert werden könnte, fällt mir kaum was ein das wirklich so viel Power benötigt. Aber naja, wird schon noch kommen
Für nich noch die wichtigste Frage, ob auch Geräte in mit solchen Prozessoren in den "Tegra-Spiele" Bereich im Market kommen. Da bin ich echt mal gespannt wie das geregelt wird!
Es wird warschweinlich einen Snapdragon Dual-Core geben mit 1,2GHz je Kern.
Die Spezifikationen des CortexA9 gehen von 800MHz bis 2GHz bei Single über Dual bis Quat-Core. Wo ist hier das Problem mit der Frequenz? Manche Leute verstehe ich nicht…
mir fällt noch eine sache ein wozu man so ein leistungschub benötigen kann,nämlich für emulatoren.Ich meine der psx emulator läuft schon auf ein ghz schon gut,aber bald soll ja noch dreamcast emulator kommen bei den halt der dualcore sinnvoll wird
