Auslieferung des Samsung Galaxy S in Europa beginnt, der Rest der Welt muss warten
Heute gab der Elektronik-Konzern Samsung per Pressemitteilung (s.u.) bekannt, dass die Auslieferung ihres neuen „Super-Smartphones“ Galaxy S ab heute, den 2. Juni 2010, beginnt. Zunächst soll es das Gerät nur in Europa geben, im Verlauf diesen Jahres soll auch Amerika und der Rest der Welt in den Genuss des Galaxy S kommen. Derzeit ist es bereits bei diversen Online-Händlern in der 8GB-Variante für unter 500 Euro vorbestellbar, zum Beispiel bei Amazon oder bei Cyberport. Bei TopHandy ist es sogar für nur 471 Euro gelistet.
Oft nervt es mich, und sicherlich viele andere Leute auch, dass es ein Smartphone nur bei einem Mobilfunkunternehmen gibt. Paradebeispiel dafür war bis vor kurzem ja noch das Apple iPhone. Doch das will Samsung nicht tun. Sie wollen das Galaxy S laut der Pressemitteilung weltweit bei über 100 Providern anbieten und würden damit dem Konsumer die Wahl des Netzbetreibers überlassen. Obwohl es heißt, das Gerät würde jetzt ausgeliefert, kann es natürlich noch einige Tage bis Wochen dauern, bis das Gerät bei den Mobilfunkunternehmen erhältlich ist. Wann man in den USA das Galaxy S kaufen kann, ist noch nicht bekannt. Spekuliert wird aber über eine Erscheinung bei T-Mobile USA innerhalb der nächsten zwei Monate.
Eines der Highlights des Samsung-Phones ist sicherlich der 4″ große Super AMOLED Touchscreen, der nochmals besser sein soll als die „normale“ AMOLED-Variante. Ein weiteres wichtiges Leistungsmerkmal ist der verbaute 1GHz “Hummingbird”-Chipsatz, der die dreifache Grafikleistung eines Snapdragon-Prozessors hat. Das bewies ja auch ein vor kurzem durchgeführter Benchmark-Test. Als Betriebssystem kommt Android 2.1 zum Einsatz. Das wird durch Samsungs Benutzeroberfläche TouchWiz 3.0 nochmals verbessert.
Ich finde das angepasste User-Interface nicht gerade ansprechend, aber Geschmäcker sind ja bekanntlich verschieden. Wie findet ihr das Samsung Galaxy S und plant Ihr eine Anschaffung??
