Office 2019 kommt Ende 2018, aber nur für Windows 10

Microsoft arbeitet momentan an Office 2019 und möchte das Angebot bis Ende des Jahres anbieten. Voraussetzung wird dann jedoch Windows 10 sein.

Im September 2017 gab Microsoft bekannt, dass man an Office 2019 arbeitet. Die neue Office-Lösung soll in der zweiten Hälfte des Jahres erscheinen und beinhaltet natürlich die bekannten Lösungen Word, Excel und PowerPoint.

Office 2019 will add new user and IT capabilities for customers who aren’t yet ready for the cloud. For example, new and improved inking features— like pressure sensitivity, tilt effects, and ink replay— will allow you to work more naturally. New formulas and charts will make data analysis for Excel more powerful. Visual animation features— like Morph and Zoom— will add polish to PowerPoint presentations. Server enhancements will include updates to IT manageability, usability, voice, and security.

Bei The Verge hat man nun einen Support-Artikel entdeckt, in dem Microsoft von einem Release für Windows 10 spricht. Office 2019 wird also nicht für Windows 7 und Windows 8 erscheinen. Office 2019 soll 5 Jahre mit Updates versorgt werden, der Support geht jedoch 2 Jahre länger. Details zur Mac-Version gibt es nicht, die ist unabhängig von der Windows-Version und dürfte später kommen.
