Pebble Time: App-Updates und neue Firmware
Bei Pebble hat man aktuell nicht nur Updates für die Time-Apps veröffentlicht, sondern bringt gleichzeitig auch eine neue Firmware für die hauseigenen Smartwatches an den Start.
Die Verbesserungen lesen sich ganz nett, iOS-Nutzer haben allerdings wieder mal kaum Grund zur Freude. Was auf der Uhr läuft bekommen die genau so ab, was in Verbindung mit dem Smartphone möglich ist wie so oft nicht.
Pebble Health hat eine API verpasst bekommen, sodass aufgezeichnete Fitnessdaten auch in Watchfaces angezeigt werden können. Außerdem ist für Nutzer außerhalb der USA erfreulich, dass sich in den erweiterten Einstellungen der Pebble-App nun auch Kilometer statt Meilen als Einheit für die zurückgelegte Strecke festlegen lassen.
Unter Android kann man nun auch Textnachrichten lesen oder sogar initial schreiben. Auch soll das Antworten per vorgefertigter Nachricht, Sprache oder Emoji möglich sein. Unter iOS geht das alles wie üblich nicht.
Was noch ganz nett ist: Der Watch-Only-Modus kann nun etwas mehr, spart aber dennoch einiges an Energie. So sollen Alarme oder die Hintergrundbeleuchtung noch aktiv sein. Während Bluetooth und Fitness-Tracking abgeschaltet wird.
Pebble Time Firmware 3.9 Release Notes

- Improved low battery warnings based on time left with power instead of percentage remaining.
- Ура, дождались! Cyrillic characters are now supported in notifications and alerts. Enable from the Pebble Timesmartphone app: Menu » Settings » Watch Language » Selected Language.
- Under-the-hood fixes and stability improvements.
- To update to the latest firmware, select Menu » Support » Update Your Pebble from the Pebble Time smartphone app.
