Steve Jobs tritt zurück [Update]
Steve Jobs ist als CEO von Apple zurückgetreten. Mit dem folgenden Schreiben wurde Tim Cook neuer CEO von Apple:

„An den Apple-Vorstand und die Apple-Community:
Ich habe immer gesagt, sollte jemals der Tag kommen, an dem ich nicht mehr länger meinen Verpflichtungen als Chef von Apple nachkommen und die Erwartungen erfüllen kann, werde ich der Erste sein, der es Euch sagt. Leider ist dieser Tag gekommen.
Hiermit erkläre ich meinen Rücktritt als CEO von Apple. Ich möchte gerne – falls der Vorstand dies für möglich hält – als Vorsitzender des Vorstands, Direktor und Apple-Mitarbeiter weiterdienen. Was meinen Nachfolger angeht, empfehle ich ausdrücklich, dass wir unseren Nachfolgeplan umsetzen und Tim Cook als CEO von Apple ernennen.
Ich glaube, dass Apple seine hellsten und innovativsten Tage noch vor sich hat. Und ich freue mich darauf, diesen Erfolg in meiner neuen Rollen zu beobachten und meinen Beitrag dazu zu leisten.
Ich habe einige der besten Freunde meines Lebens bei Apple gefunden, und ich danke euch allen für die vielen Jahre, in denen ich zusammen mit Euch arbeiten durfte.“

I want you to be confident that Apple is not going to change. I cherish and celebrate Apple’s unique principles and values. Steve built a company and culture that is unlike any other in the world and we are going to stay true to that—it is in our DNA. We are going to continue to make the best products in the world that delight our customers and make our employees incredibly proud of what they do.
I love Apple and I am looking forward to diving into my new role. All of the incredible support from the Board, the executive team and many of you has been inspiring. I am confident our best years lie ahead of us and that together we will continue to make Apple the magical place that it is.
