Gestern hat Google mehrere US-Blogs zu einem Event eingeladen, auf dem „The next dimension of Google Maps“ das zentrale Thema sein wird. Dieser Titel lässt darauf schließen, dass Google seinem Kartendienst in naher Zukunft um eine 3D-Ansicht erweitern möchte.
Besonders interessant ist die Ansetzung des Events. Eben jenes ist auf den sechsten Juni datiert, also eine Woche vor Apples WWDC. Das ist insofern bemerkenswert, als dass ja zuletzt vermutet wurde, dass Apple Google Maps aus iOS entfernen möchte, da man im Oktober 2011 mit C3 einen Karten-Dienst akquiriert hatte.
