Zelda: Breath of the Wild bekommt Nachfolger, da es zu viele DLC-Ideen gab

Vor ein paar Tagen gab Nintendo im Rahmen der E3 2019 etwas überraschend bekannt, dass Zelda: Breath of the Wild einen Nachfolger bekommen wird. Es wird ein komplett neues Zelda geben, was in dieser Form aber nicht geplant war.

Nach dem ersten DLC für Zelda: Breath of the Wild sammelte das Team weitere Ideen für DLCs und es waren am Ende so viele neue Ansätze dabei, die den Rahmen einer Erweiterung für Zelda: Breath of the Wild gesprengt hätten. Daher entschied man sich für einen neuen Titel (der noch keinen Namen hat).

Ich bin wirklich gespannt, wie der Nachfolger aussehen wird, welche Elemente man von Breath of the Wild nutzt, wie man die Geschichte aufbaut und ob man vielleicht auch an Koop-Möglichkeiten gearbeitet hat (ein Spieler könnte Link und der andere Zelda spielen, im Trailer waren durchgehend beide zu sehen).

When we released the DLC for Breath of the Wild, we realized that this is a great way to add more elements to the same world. But when it comes down to technical things, DLC is pretty much data—you’re adding data to a preexisting title. And so when we wanted to add bigger changes, DLC is not enough, and that’s why we thought maybe a sequel would be a good fit.

Initially we were thinking of just DLC ideas, but then we had a lot of ideas and we said, “This is too many ideas, let’s just make one new game and start from scratch.
