Eigentlich sollte die China-Sparte der Cariad, der Software-Abteilung innerhalb der Volkswagen Group, die Basis für autonomes Fahren in China entwickeln, aber laut CarNewsChina hat man sich umentschieden. VW nutzt die Technik von Xpeng.
Mit dem langjährigen Partner in China entwickelt Volkswagen also nicht nur die lokale China Electronic Architecture (CEA), ab 2026 nutzt man auch den Xpeng Navigation Guided Pilot (XNGP) in einem mittelgroßen Elektro-SUV, so die Quelle.
Aktuell testet VW das System noch und wenn die Markteinführung erfolgreich ist, sollen die restlichen Modelle auch mit Xpeng-Technik kommen. Der Konzern schwenkt also immer mehr um und wieder mehr auf Drittanbieter-Lösungen.
